What Is CA?
A Chartered Accountant (CA) is a highly qualified accounting professional recognized for their expertise in financial management, auditing, taxation, and business advisory services. – Foundation Course
– Direct Entry
Route-1 Foundation Course
This is an entry to the CA Course the candidates who completed their Class XII examinations are now eligible to enroll in the CA Course.
A student who has passed Class X can register with the Institute’s Board of Studies (BoS) for the Foundation Course.
Steps under the foundation route scheme and how do you start your CA Journey are as under :
– Register for the foundation course and complete 4 months of theoretical education for the Foundation Course.
– Apply to appear in the Foundation Examination by filling up the prescribed exam form released by the Examination Section/Department.
– Appearing in the class XII Examination before appearing in the Foundation Exam.
– Qualify Foundation Examination.
– Qualifying class XII Examination and Foundation Exam before registering for Intermediate Exam.
– Complete 8 months of theoretical education for the Intermediate Course.
– Apply to the Intermediate Examination by filling out the prescribed Exam Form.
– Appear and pass both groups of the Intermediate Examination.
– Complete the Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS) before starting your Practical Training.
– Register for the Final Course after qualifying for both Groups of the Intermediate Examination.
– Enroll in the two-year Practical Training program after successfully passing both groups of the Intermediate Examination and completing the ICITSS.
– Complete the four Self-Paced Online Modules and qualify for the online assessment.
– Complete Practical Training.
– Undergo and Qualify Advanced ICITSS after completion of Practical Training but before appearing in the Final Examination.
– Apply to appear in the final examination by filling out the prescribed Exam Form.
– Candidates can appear for the Final Examination six months after completing their Practical Training period.
– Qualify both groups for the Final Examination.
– Become a Member.
NOTE: How do you start your CA journey? Most of the Students can obtain the BAA Certificate after successfully passing both groups of the Intermediate examination, completing two years of Practical Training, finishing the Advanced ICITSS, and passing the self-paced online modules. This can be done by paying the required fee.
Route-2 Direct Entry

How do you start your CA journey? Commerce Graduates/Post-Graduates (with minimum 55% marks) or Other Graduates/Post-Graduates (with minimum 60% marks) and Intermediate level passed candidates of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
Candidates who are Graduates or Post-Graduates in Commerce, who have secured at least 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade) from any recognized university (including open universities), and have studied a minimum of three subjects with at least 50 marks per semester/year and a total of 100 or more marks. What is CA and their subjects like Accounting, Auditing, Mercantile Laws, Corporate Laws, Economics, Management (including Financial Management), Taxation (both Direct and Indirect Tax Laws), Costing, Business Administration, or Management Accounting (or similar subjects with different titles), are eligible for exemption from the Foundation Exam. Additionally, how do you start your CA journey? Candidates from Commerce streams with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks, as well as those who have passed the Intermediate level examinations conducted by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, can also directly register for the Intermediate Course without needing to qualify the Foundation exam.
Candidates currently in their Final Year of Graduation or Post-Graduation are eligible for provisional registration in the Intermediate Course. However, this registration will only be confirmed upon submission of satisfactory proof that they have passed their Graduation/Post-Graduation exam with the required minimum marks, as outlined above, before applying for the Intermediate Examination.
If a candidate fails to secure the required minimum marks before applying for the Intermediate Examination, their provisional registration will be canceled. No credit will be given for any theoretical education completed, so how do you start your CA journey? However, upon receiving a request from the candidate, the Council may allow a refund of the registration and tuition fees, as per its policies at the time.
Eligible Graduates/Post-Graduates/Intermediate level qualified candidates from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India/Intermediate level qualified candidates from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India have to register through the Direct Entry Scheme.
